GTEC is a leading building services training provider, delivering accredited courses throughout the UK. Its flagship centre based in Hawes, North Yorkshire, includes a full range of renewable heat and power qualifications – air and ground source heat pumps, solar PV, electric vehicle charging point installation, biomass, battery storage and solar thermal. The centre also offers a range of plumbing, electrical, oil and health & safety courses.

- Telford College, where GTEC, supported by battery supplier and manufacturer, AceOn Group, has helped set-up a specialist new centre for Electrical Energy Storage Systems at the college.
- Nottingham College, air source heat pump, WRAS and energy efficiency for domestic heating courses delivered from one of the largest construction-based training facilities of its type in the region.
- Building Performance Hub, High Wycombe; GTEC’s newest location including a live ‘house’ used to check building performance and provide a real practical training environment for heat pump installers.
- Total Renewable Solutions, Devon, delivering air source heat pump training from its Axminster showroom.
An LCL Awards approved centre, GTEC’s MD, Griff Thomas – who will be presenting at Toolfair – is a key representative for his industry, Chairing the Decarbonising Housing Group for Richmondshire and having contributed to most of the national renewable technology standards. Griff is also called-upon for training advice from much further afield – he is currently working with the British Commission in India, as part of the countries drive to de-carbonise its cities.
